It’s British Flowers Week

It’s British Flowers Week

It’s British Flowers Week – your chance to celebrate the best of British grown, beautifully fresh cut flowers and foliage.

Pop into the garden centre here in Woking and treat yourself to in-season British-grown flowers to mark the occasion: right now you’re spoilt for choice, with roses, alstroemeria, lilacs, freesias, lavender,  pinks and sweet williams all in season and flowering their socks off. Put together your own combination.

British Flowers Week

Often scented, British flowers have a natural charm, beauty and just-picked freshness. You’ll find British flowers are fresher and last longer than flowers flown in from abroad, as minimum distance means maximum vase life. You’ll also be supporting local industry and encouraging wildlife and biodiversity.

British Flowers Week was started by the famous New Covent Garden Flower Market in 2013, working with independent florists and the wider flower industry to shine the spotlight on British flowers.  Just like with food, people are increasingly demanding more locally grown flowers to celebrate the seasons and support British growers. There are events going on all over the country throughout the week to show off the best of British blooms:  visit www.britishflowersweek.com for more details.
